Gooses
About two months ago, we were out driving and we saw some Canadian Geese in the road. Matt rolled down his window and yelled "Hey GOOSES! Get out of the road!" It was a huge hit with Escher. He laughed and thought it was hilarious!
Fast forward to today... GOOSES are part of everyday conversation. He likes to tell this story to anyone who will listen:
"one day daddy was on his way to work and he saw gooses in the road. So he rolled down his window and yelled, HEY GOOSES GET OUT OF THE ROAD! and these people next to him said "what is that crazy guy doing, why is he yelling at the gooses in the road?"
He will be in the middle of playing, and all of the sudden say "GOOSES IN THE ROAD!"
He asked Matt if any gooses were going to fly into the fireplace and Matt said "if there are, his goose is cooked!" So now, Escher runs aroud saying "HIS GOOSE IS COOKED!"
When we get in the car, Escher wonders "Will we see GOOSES in the road?"
We were at the zoo, and instead of being thrilled with seeing all the cool animals, Escher couldn't stop hollering about all the GOOSES that he saw. Imagine his excitement when he saw GOOSES IN THE ELLY EXHIBIT!
It is quite the phenomenon in our house. So much so that when I talk about geese, I say GOOSES.
Riley Roo is 10 Months
Where has the time gone? I can't believe Riley is 10 months (and one week, if you want to be technical) old.
I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before, but Riley means courageous in Irish. We wanted her to be able to hold her own against her brother, who we all know can be kinda crazy. But what we didn't expect was for her to go beyond her brother in craziness. She is fearless. She wants to do whatever it is that Escher is doing, even if her little body can't. She thinks she can.
Escher was piling all the couch cushions on the ottoman and sliding down them. The next thing we new, there was Riley, crawling up the ottoman to about 4 feet off the ground in an attempt to slide like her brother.

Behind this sweet adorable face is a little girl determined to get her way. She will holler to no end to get what she wants. Now that she is mobile, she never sits still. She is always moving. She hates to be confined.

She tolerated this seat for awhile, until she decided she wanted to be out an about with Escher. Sometimes food will distract her, but not always. The other day we were racing down the beach ramp with her in the stroller, chasing Matt and Escher, and she was squealing the whole way. She loves to go fast. She has only ever known going fast, because we have always been keeping up with Escher.
